Phoenix Mercury
One of the eight original WNBA franchises, the Phoenix Mercury has been offering exciting, affordable entertainment in the Valley for 14 seasons at an unprecedented success rate. The two-time WNBA Champions became the first professional sports franchise in Arizona to win multiple championships when it claimed its second title in three years in 2009. A trailblazer in the women’s professional game led by reigning WNBA MVP and 2009 WNBA Finals MVP Diana Taurasi, the Mercury has led the league in scoring four straight seasons and has set WNBA records for highest scoring average in three of those seasons.
The Mercury is equally impactful off the court, dedicated to making a difference alongside women in the community by mentoring girls through its Adopt-A-Team outreach program in Title 1 high schools, promotion of breast health awareness and healthy lifestyle choices and raising money for cancer research.
