Want better health? Think better thoughts. It sounds really simple, yet at times it’s not easy.

Our old patterns and beliefs keep us stuck in a place of comfort where it’s easier to blame the situation, our genetics, our environment or whatever, rather than looking deeper at our thoughts and beliefs around the situation.

Our thoughts greatly control the quality of our health.

When we fill our lives with negative thoughts, it’s easy to see why we don’t feel well, or why we’re always the one to catch whatever’s going around. Our immune system can be compromised by stress, fear, unhappiness and hatred.

The good news is that a positive attitude and simply thinking positive thoughts have been proven to greatly improve the quality of our health.

We can choose to be the healthiest version of ourselves possible by taking some simple steps:

1) Rather than reacting to stimuli around you, be proactive and choose to be happy. Choose to fill your day with happy thoughts, for life is too short to fill our time with worry, dread or hate.

2) Let go of that which no longer serves you: beliefs, attitudes, friends, your work environment, or whatever.

New Year’s is a time for new beginnings. It’s a time to look at what works, and let go of what doesn’t.

Your car died on the way to work. You hate your job. You’re worried you won’t have enough money to pay the rent. You husband isn’t giving you the attention you deserve. Your kids are acting out and draining your patience. You don’t have any time for yourself. You really need to lose 20 pounds. And the list goes on.

Let it go. Let them all go.

Look at the thoughts that you are thinking throughout the day and take control of your life by first taking control of your thoughts.

Be grateful that the car didn’t leave you stranded on the freeway and, instead, died on a side street. Be grateful that your kids are healthy even when they’re acting bratty. Be grateful for your job that will allow you to eventually pay the rent. Be grateful that you’re able to exercise and lose the weight gradually.

Take every negative thought and find the blessing in the situation. Turn the thought from negative to positive and watch what happens in your life and especially in your health. Know that positive results never come from negative thoughts.

Want positive things in your life like good health, prosperity and loving relationships? Start with your thoughts and all else will follow.
