Kay-Kayes recalls the helpful advice she received that helped her live with pancreatic cancer.

Kay-Kayes:
That, I have to say, there was a gentleman who was a pianist in my support group, and I am a worrier. I am a nurturer and a worrier. That’s why it's so hard for women sometimes to seek out because we want to take care of everyone else and, we expect that everything would just be okay for us and we forget about the self-care that we need to do.

But one of the things he told me is, "Worrying is not going to solve anything. I could worry 24 hours for you, and it’s not going to help you. You need to take control, you need to be empowered, you need to be educated, and that will release the fear that you have." And I felt that really helped me move forward a lot.
