On October 20, NOF will join bone health organizations from around the globe to celebrate World Osteoporosis Day. This year’s theme, “Stand Tall - Speak Out For Your Bones” is a call to advocate for public health policies that promote better bone health. NOF is bringing together patients and health professionals from around the country to meet with Members of Congress to raise awareness of the physical and economic impact that osteoporosis and poor bone health have on the nation during World Osteoporosis Day.

NOF also is launching an advocacy webinar series designed to help you join the fight against osteoporosis! Even if you cannot join us on Capitol Hill, you can still make your voice heard! Whether you’ve attended one of NOF’s advocacy trainings before or are just learning what advocacy is all about, the webinar series will help you become an effective advocate for better bone health. Plus NOF’s advocacy tool kit, which complements the webinar series, will be a great resource as you raise awareness of osteoporosis and bone health. From writing letters in support of osteoporosis legislation to meeting with elected officials to discuss the impact of osteoporosis in your community, there are many ways to be a strong voice for strong bones!

Our first webinar will take place October 13. This one-hour online training session covers the basics of advocacy: knowing what you want, who you’re talking to, how to talk to them and how to follow-up.

Advocacy 101 - Four Keys to Effective Advocacy October 13 - 4 to 5 p.m. EDT
