The time has come for me to end the blogs on my obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD. As I mentioned once, writing them has been therapeutic, and hopefully helpful to others. The blogs have forced me to think about and to constantly assess the symptoms of the disorder, as well as the road to progress. They have forced me to put my thoughts about this disorder in some kind of orderly fashion. This has been extremely helpful to me, and I have always hoped that others would benefit from my reflections.

I am not ending the blog because I am cured, but because this is a good place to stop. Most of us know when the time has come for us to cease an activity. This is the moment for me. I feel that I want to concentrate my energies elsewhere.
It is very important however, to write about mental disorders on websites that are easy to access. It helps to decrease the stigma attached to such disorders, and it provides an opportunity for others to comment on the blog. And of course it serves as a learning tool. The readers are able to witness the struggles of another person in her efforts to overcome a disorder. This bonds us to one another.

I will continue to see my therapist who has turned out to be a warm and caring person. Perhaps I will document my OCD in some kind of journal, but I am not sure about this. I am certainly looking forward to the day when I don't have the need to write about it anymore, because then it will have become something I no longer struggle with.

Like my therapist says, we all struggle with something; sometimes the struggles are obvious to everyone else and sometimes they aren't. The important thing is that we show each other compassion.

Best wishes to everyone.
