Kathy describes the ways in which multiple sclerosis has affected her body.
Kathy:
MS is a very progressive disease. It gets worse and worse and worse by days and by years and so, over the course of the time that I had it, that I was diagnosed, which was about four years before I found the solution, I started losing functionality.
By the time I actually turned things around and was able to start resolving symptoms, I wasn’t able to write. My right hand was completely atrophied; I could only use the keyboard. I was unable to sleep without sleep medication. I wasn’t able to think. I mean, doing, you know, balancing my checkbook was a thing of the past. You have terrible cognitive difficulties.
I was so tired that by about noon every day I have to be flat on my back in bed. So really, you are like an 80-year-old person.
