Listen as Dr. Ramsey discusses what age menopause typically begins.
Dr. Ramsey:
The age is getting younger and younger. It used to be 48 to 52 years old; that is text book, but really starting in the early 30s, I am seeing hormonal changes, and just if I can go further, premenstrual syndrome. If you are experiencing it more and more strongly, I would say your hormones are changing and you are perimenopausal. So, I would say early 30s, late 30s, definitely by 40, women’s hormones are changing.
