PET Scan Cancelled and Night in With the Girls

The PET scan ended up being cancelled! I am now rescheduled for sometime in early June. We drove all the way to Scottsdale Healthcare and then I walked at a pace slower than a snail, because of the pain I was having in my back, to the imaging center. The radiologist told us that their machine just went down and they were rescheduling all of the appointments for another time. So I guess it will be awhile before I know the status of my treatment and if the chemo, radiation and surgeries are helping to stop the growth of the tumors.

The past few days I haven’t been able to do much. I have literally stayed in bed watching hours of TV, reading and sleeping. My hips have been hurting lately and lower back, which makes it excruciatingly painful to walk. Even getting out of bed to take a shower takes up all of my morning energy, then I have to take a nap. This entire week I have been hibernating with the exception of going to doc appointments and having the girls over Monday night for the “bachelor party.” What a great group of girls I have in my life! They all pitched in to surprise me to get me this Tiffany’s ring that I have been eyeing!

On another note, my blood clot seems to be getting better. The new medication, Fragmin, may be helping! The swollen, purple ankle/leg that I had before is now just a light purple, slightly puffy foot and ankle. My lower leg has a little rash, but nothing major. It’s a good thing, because if it got worse, we were running out of options besides surgery, which could really mess up the chemo schedule.
