Four Nights with No Sleep

Rate This

I am going on my fourth night in a row with no sleep. I have been finally going to bed around 4am each day. The strange thing is that I don’t feel as tired as I should during the day. Time seems to be flying by! I still can’t believe that it is almost November.

I signed the papers today with JMK construction to have both of the bathrooms remodeled. I have been in negotations with contractors for the past couple of weeks. I am very satisfied with the final number and company that will be completing this job. The whole thing started when the shower door shattered months ago. We found that we would have to order a new custom glass shower peice. I figured I might as well finish the entire bathroom…it’s been something I have been wanting to do since I moved into this condo years ago. We will also be completing the master bathroom as well. Now I just need to pick out hardware, cabinets, etc. It is a little overwhelming since I am not totally sure what kind of look I want to go for. I guess this contractor works with a couple of companies that have showrooms that I can go to locally, which I think will be very helpful in helping me to make decisions.

When Debbie Meyers came to be a caregiver I learned that she ended up opening a dance studio in Trolley Square in SLC. I was so happy for her! I grew up taking dance classes and acting classes from her in Park City. I believe that taking these classes and spending time in the studio at that particular time in my life helped to shape who I am today. I decided I want to help other kids and offer a scholarship. We will be offering a full year scholarship to one boy and one girl. I spent some time tonight writing up the scholarship application and guidelines. We will be picking the recipient based upon talent, potential, and the short essay questions filled out on the application. The questions include, “what does the performing arts mean to you”, “describe a situation where you displayed the qualities of a spirited warrior”, and more! The scholarship is available to students grade 1-8.

So far I seem to still have this lingering feeling of being on the verge of getting sick. My throat has been killing me for the past week and I feel like I have been slowly loosing my voice over the past couple of days. I called CTCA to get my weekly Erbitux chemo and physical therapy scheduled today. If this persists, then I will have to go to the clinic prior to getting the chemo infusion. =(

Hi Melissa - Sorry you're not getting much sleep these days, that's not a lot of fun.
You seem to be really busy, with a lot going on and a lot on your mind. Good luck with the remodeling work, and congratulations on developing the scholarship program! It's so rewarding to be able to help others, and I'm sure the "spirited warriors" of the future are really going to value your support.
Have a Happy Halloween, and take good care.
