This time of year as the temperature drops and we are spending more time together at intimate gatherings, eating more sugar, drinking more alcohol is when more lost days at school and work occur due to more frequent infections. There are a few home remedies that can boost your immune system and assist you to recover more quickly.

Baths — In many cultures they are considered hydro-therapy (therapy in water). Our skin is the largest organ of absorption and elimination. While you enjoy a warm bath, add 1 large box of Epsom salts to it and 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide and a few squirts of Olba’s Bath Oil. After 5 minutes, add another quart of hydrogen peroxide and yet another one after another five minutes. Soak for at least twenty minutes.

Bedtime – As you snuggle into bed for a full nights rest, apply wet sock therapy. You will need two pairs of socks – one thin one and one thick one (wool if possible). Wet the thin cotton sock, the toe to heel portion and wring out tightly. Put into the refrigerator and let set up nice and cold. Before getting into bed, rub Olba’s oil to the bottom of your feet and apply the thin wet sock first and then the dry thick sock. Go to bed and sleep all night waking to dry feet. If they are not dry, the next night, just wet the toe. If your vital force is strong, it should be dry in the morning.

Remember the home remedies such as Emergen-C and Airborne along with long time favorite Liquid bioflavanoids to give your immune system a huge boost. There is a nice remedy that came over from Europe that helps thin and clear sinus congestion called Sinupret and one for the lungs, Bronchicept. You can use these as both preventive and treatment of upper respiratory infections. The Neil Med is wonderful also at cleansing the sinuses. If you don’t like the nasal wash, consider keeping your sinuses moist with a saline or a saline and xylitol spray twice daily.

Lastly there is an amazing preventive remedy for all exposures including viruses, bacteria and parasites, called GI Protection Plus. Remember that 80% of our immune system resides in our digestive tract. This powder that tastes like peach juice provides immune globulins and L-glutamine which are our first line defense against invaders.

Remember to drink lots of water, exercise a little bit each day, get plenty of rest, and find joy in all things that occur and you will be blessed with a healthier way of being on all levels.
