Dr. Brand explains how women can prevent hemorrhoid symptoms.
Dr. Brand:
Hemorrhoids can’t be prevented because they are normal structures, but hemorrhoid symptoms and disease in the hemorrhoids can be prevented by trying to avoid things that create a lot of pressure on the anal area. For example, diarrhea or constipation, obesity, lack of exercise, these are a variety of things that are easily within our control that somebody can manipulate to try and either improve hemorrhoid symptoms or reduce the likelihood of them developing.
