What Is Mesotherapy?

Rate This

Mesotherapy involves taking tiny needles and injecting a natural-based solution just below the skin into the fat layers. This is called Subcutaneous fat, which is where most of your fat is kept.

Mesotherapy allows you to targets the exact areas that are an issue for your body, whether you want to focus on your arms, your "love handles" or your belly. It stimulates the cells to "dump" the fat out of the cells.

Who can consider Mesotherapy?
People who want to get rid of stubborn fat, who already have a healthy diet and exercise regime are good candidates for mesotherapy. People often target fat on their arms, love handles, bellies or cellulite. Mesotherapy is not intended as a weight loss tool. Individuals should be at their ideal weight before considering mesotherapy, otherwise the results will not last, and they will need to have treatment again to maintain the results.

Who performs mesotherapy?
Naturopathic and Medical Doctors who have also received special training in Mesotherapy can perform Mesotherapy treatments.

Mesotherapy demonstration:
Jerome, another member of the Vitamin Junkeys team tries mesotherapy to target his love handles.
The first step in the therapy is using a body sculpting machine to massage his abdomen to increase the lymphatic and blood circulation in the area before injecting the naturally-based solution.
Then Dr. JJ injects the solution about 1 cm below the skin, targeting the fat cells. He does about 50 little injections on each side of Jeromes abdomen. After the injections, Dr. JJ applies some cream to help reduce the bruising and increase the circulation to the area. The patient is then wrapped in plastic wrap, which works well to increase the metabolism of the fat, and help reduce the bruising.

How much does Mesotherapy cost?
Mesotherapy costs approximately $300/session.

(Jerome's comments: The saran wrap was uncomfortable, but bearable. The results were am azing. I've been working on my love handles at the gym for a while and I haven't been able to make any progress. I was pleasantly surprised with the results.)
