Thanks to Melissa for starting this Group.

Let's talk about patient-doctor relationships. How is yours? Do you think it would be different or better of you had a doctor of the opposite sex to what he/she is? Why? What made you choose your doctor?

I just think that the knowledge of a male doctor is more helpful than women. It's hard to explain it but depending on situation if it's anything serious in such matter a male doctor would understand it better. I've been to many doctors and I've learned that comparing their care and knowledge to female doctors are much better.

I would choose the opposite sex especially depending on the situation. For example, my eye doctor is a male doctor which is what I prefer because they understand things better. I have a female GYN which I always prefer being a female or else I won't be comfortable. Since I have breast issue I see a oncologist but it's a male doctor if I have issue in my private area (down there) I would only see a GYN. At first when I had breast issue I was told that the oncologist I'm seeing is the best doctor. I was so embarrased at first. Since it's only breasts nothing more in all this time I'm finally comfortable and happy with my oncologist. All the doctors I have depending on situation is how I choose to be a male or female doctor. I'm glad I'm comfortable with the doctors I have.

How about you, do you see male or female depending on situation?

Description

Does anyone have a male doctor who is comfortable with? Are you happy with him? Does he give you the help you need? Depend on situation if your embarrased it is always okay to go and see a female doctor. Seeing a female doctor would make more sense to because they understand how the female body is and this way you should be comfortable. As long as your happy with your doctor and comfortable you are in good health. Melissa
