8 Mistakes Made by People Who Want to Lose Weight

By June 19, 2019 - 5:40am

Often people try to lose weight at any cost. For them, the purpose of losing weight is to meet accepted standards of beauty, but not for their own health. We talked to some of the top nutritionists to see the biggest mistakes people make when wanting to lose weight. Let’s look at what they had to say about the eight most common blunders.

1. A sharp decrease in calories and food volume
Usually, the first thing people do to lose weight is to go on a diet. If you have great willpower and a tendency to masochism, you can withstand this diet for a while and even lose some fat and water. But during this time you become depleted morally and physically. As a result, you receive fatigue, drowsiness, lack of vitamins, and energy. At the end of such a diet, people begin to eat much more to fill the deficit, and in 95% of cases, they gain back weight with excess.

2. Overload
Together with a diet, some people begin to actively engage in sports, visiting the gym 6-7 times a week. Overloads adversely affect the spine, the joints, and the general physical condition. After exercise, muscles take 48 hours to fully recover, so it’s enough to train three times a week. Any physical activity should correspond to the age, goals, and state of your health, taking into account the load on the spine and joints.

3. The desire to lose weight very quickly
If you want to lose 10 pounds because in two weeks you have a wedding, and you are afraid that you won’t get into the dress, a quick way to lose weight is justified. But if you need to get rid of 50 pounds of excess weight, then do not try to do it quickly. The price of such weight loss will be your wellbeing. It is enough to drop 7-10% of body weight per month.

4. The pursuit of the ideal
Each person has their own ideal body. This is a weight in which you feel comfortable, warm, you are full and at the same time healthy and looking good, when your physical condition is in balance. The desire to keep up with other people's ideas can lead to a deterioration of health, mood and, as a result, your appearance.

5. Slimming tea
Such products do not burn fat but have a laxative or diuretic effect. At the same time, you are constantly experiencing discomfort. In addition, if you use such teas for a long time, your normal intestinal microflora will suffer, your hair will start to fall out, your skin will become dry or, on the contrary, more oily. All these are signs of an imbalance in the body.

6. Fat absorbing tablets
The recommendation says to drink these pills when you eat something fat. At the same time, 30% of fat will be excreted in the feces. This is fundamentally wrong because in the intestine is the absorption of nutrients and water. And when a person drinks pills that prevent the breakdown of fat, then the intestinal microflora changes and you feel discomfort.

7. Using body drying methods
Diuretic pills are often used for this. If you do it constantly, it will negatively affect the body, up to the development of renal failure. Drying is suitable for a short time for athletes who want to get a certain result before the competition.

8. Fiber consumption
Some people consume fiber to eat everything and not gain weight. This suggests an erroneous concept of digestion and the origin of fat. There are no such means that eliminate fat. Fat is energy, and it splits when there is a process that consumes this energy. For example, a balanced diet plus adequate physical activity.
