Seven Natural Ways to Fight Acne

By March 16, 2017 - 10:44am

Many Americans find that dealing with acne is a problem. Even though most people think it is a problem for teens, the truth is acne can affect anyone regardless of age. If you want to find a way to fight acne without turning to chemicals, here are some tips for you.

Apple Cider Vinegar for Toner -- Apple cider vinegar and rubbing alcohol clean out pores very well due to their acidic nature. They work as well as the chemical-based toner for half the cost. Be careful that you don’t use too much because they can cause a reaction to your skin. If you notice your skin is getting too dry, use less toner or add it to water.
Honey for Breakouts -- Honey is naturally antibacterial. If you have a pimple you want gone immediately, dab a bit of honey on it and cover it with a bandage overnight. In the morning, you will see either no pimple or a much smaller one. You can use honey as a facial mask. Apply a thin coat to your face and let it sit for an hour or longer for a clearer and softer complexion.
Toothpaste for Breakouts -- If you do not have any honey in the pantry, you can use white toothpaste that isn’t a gel. Follow the above steps. However, toothpaste isn’t completely without chemicals.
Lemon Juice for Cleansers -- Anyone who has read novels set hundreds of years ago or read nonfiction that has researched those time periods will tell you that lemons were popular as beauty treatments. They remain popular. If you use them to cleanse your face, you will notice that lemon juice is powerful fighting agent against acne. Don’t leave it on your face for very long. Apply lemon juice to your face and wash off after 15 minutes. In that short amount of time, it will dramatically remove off the dirt, oil and dead skin from your pores. This is not something you want to do daily, though.
Brown Sugar for Scrubs -- When your skin is damp in the shower and your pores have been opened up by the heat, scrub the problematic acne areas with brown sugar. This will clean out dirt, dead skin cells and oil clogging your pores while they are open and it will soften your skin as well. You should see a noticeable change in your acne and skin softness by the next day. Use this scrub only two to three times per month. If you overuse it, your body might overproduce oil, and your acne may become worse.
Egg White to Remove Oil -- Egg whites are great for removing oil, which will lessen your acne. You want to beat the egg whites after separating from the egg yolks and let the mixture sit on your face for 20 minutes.
Egg Yolks for Unclogging Pores -- Don’t waste the yolks. They can be very helpful for your skin because they vitamin A, which is composed of retinoids. Retin-A, which is used in many beauty products. It is great for battling acne because it helps regulate the amount of skin cells produced by your body. Thus, it keeps your pores from becoming clogged. Also found in Vitamin A is 13-cis-retinol, which helps regulate oil and bacteria production. Mix the yolks together then apply to your face. Within a few minutes the yolk will harden. Once hardened, let the yolk sit on your face for 15-20 minutes, then rinse it. Do this twice a week.

If you do these steps, you will fight acne without having to buy products with a lot of chemicals in them.
