Soy...does it really help to relieve menopause discomforts...or is Soy simply a trend?
I've both heard and read a great deal about the use of soy to alleviate or prevent the discomfort of menopause experienced by so many women. There is a great deal of information about the use of soy by Asian women and their American counterparts.
Recent years there has been a lot of attention on soy for menopause relief. As previously mentioned it has been reported that women in Asian cultures have a very low incidence of hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms, such as night sweats. There may be a variety of reason for the distinction. The diet of Asian women may play a large part for their low incidence of menopausal symptoms in these cultures. It is a known fact that Asian women generally consume a great deal more vegetables, grains, and beans and a considerable less of animal protein compared to women in Western cultures.Because soy is commonplace in Asian diets, soy is continually being researched in relation to menopause discomfort and relief.
Some research has concluded that soy isoflavones can have an improved effect on menopausal symptoms and that these lessening effects may be associated with initial hot flash frequency and intensity.
What has been your experience with the use of soy...have you determined any benefit or relief from hot flashes...frankly, I have yet to tried soy for relief from menopausal discomfort...
Let me hear from you.
To your excellent health
