The "Jump and Whine"

By July 31, 2010 - 8:30am

Where do children learn these torture tactics? Day Care? School? Television? The combination jump and whine thing makes me want to laugh and cry all at the same time. It's hilarious because just look at him - how silly and ridiculous is that? I want to cry a little because I'm reminded of the tantrum train we are apparently on lately. I guess "almost 4" is the new "terrible 2".

I think the best part of the fit was at the end when I taught him how to correctly perform the "jump and whine" tantrum. At first he was a little confused as to why instead of sending him to his room, I was joining in. After the initial shock wore off, however, he gained quite a few tips from my example, I think. I can only hope his next imitation of "Violet" of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is up to par. Anything worth doing is worth doing right!

Description

A collection of stories written by stay-at-home-moms, single moms, married moms ... you get the idea. It's the flip side of what most of us have seen in groups or websites so far. This group is to give mommy's everywhere a platform to be brutally honest. For example, I once wondered if there was a procedure for kids that was similar to the one that "de-barked" dogs. Don't gasp and act like you're shocked or offended just because I said it out loud. We are all human with human emotions and limits (plus hormones). This is a place you can vent and be honest without fear of judgment or criticism.
