Hi Danielle, I always try to drink enough water to stay healthy and I try my best not to eat after 6:30pm, but if all else fails fruits and veggies and light healthy snacks work for me.I also go for long walks with my dog or use my ipod for walks. I love listening to music and read at night to try and stay away from watching TV unless my favorite programs are on.I have lost at least 25 pounds from all the above that I mentioned at first it was a real struggle but I managed to stick with it and gave it the one day at a time approach. Find things that you love to do to distract yourself from thinking of food so much and just go from there. It is diffcult at first but I have faith in you.If I can do I am pretty sure we all can support each other in doing so.Keep a positive attitude thats what I am going to do.Please keep in touch.Prepare healthy meals ahead of time to because it will help you on your busy days to stay healthy and on track. Take care for now.

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this group, but I've been saying I need to lose a few lbs for quite some time! Now that my life is back to more of a normal routine, I think it's time to put my foot down and make a change!

Does anyone have any success stories to share? Any good tips that have worked for you? My problem is... To scale, or not to scale..? Although I look more toned when I look in the mirror, the scale seldom seems to want to agree! I think for now my scale will be the tightness of my jeans!

This week, I'm starting a liver cleansing diet. Essentially eating more clean, and less processed. Paired with exercise, I think this is a good plan of action.

Best of luck to everyone,

Danielle.

Like Susan, I too decided that the leftover Halloween candy was more important than losing any weight loss :-( Then Thanksgiving rolled around, so I've pretty much decided that this is going to be a New Year's resolution as I'm on a roll for craving all the wrong stuff. I'm just going to enjoy it, without binging, and not feel guilty about it (which will have me wanting to binge). Come the New Year......I'll get back on the right track. For now, I'm going to enjoy this ride...LOL

Alright, I'm in. I just dipped into the office Halloween candy bowl, so my not-so-healthy habits are pretty much an all day thing. My goal is to cut out the sugar and that extra cup of coffee (read: morning dessert). And I'm gonna have to ramp up my morning exercise routine. A few laps walking around the hood aren't doing me much good.

I have gained about 12 lbs since starting this job (too easy to eat my desk). I definitely need to lose weight and I can start with 8 lbs for sure..........and then keep going, and going, and going (yep, I have a good 35-40 lbs to drop).

Like Susan, the past few months have also brought on something new, the night eating. I also know that carbs are my biggest downfall and I seriously need to cut back on those as well.

So the goal is what by the end of the year? And when shall we start in earnest?

Hi Ladies,
With the holidays around the corner I need to start making healthy choices and exercise more often. I have the same issue late night eating part is because of work I get home around 7 or 7:30 and by the time I get dinner on the table we aren't eating until 8 or so. I eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, it's dinner that's the issue for me a lot of the times I go for the easy dinner because we are all hungry and I'm tired. But no more excuses I'm going to focus on healthier dinner choices, cut down on snack and exercise three times a week. I'm starting today and will let you know how I'm doing! Encouragement is welcomed :)
Hope you get to feeling better willalee!

Hi Everyone, I am glad to read your article Susan. It doesn't matter if you need to lose 5 or 8lbs.I just thought it would be fun and encouraging for everyone to have some kind of support and learn from each what works and what doesn't. I know my goal in all of this is learning to eat properly so I will feel healthy and of course lose weight the smart way. I have been sick with cold and flu lately so needless to say I've been eating day and night to try and keep my strenght up.I hope we can jump start this group.Thank you for your support Susan,it is much appreciated and I will be checking in weekly just to voice my concerns on how I am doing. I haven't received my flu shot yet but I have made an appointment with my MD, for Nov 1.
