Your motivation and exercise of choice?
What is your motivation to get up and get to the gym, take that walk outside, or hit the yoga studio? What is your favorite type of physical activity?
I personally love the phrase - you can have results or excuses. NOT both. And... from none other than Jillian Michaels:
"If you let go of the old conceptions of yourself, you can maintain an open mind and be open to all possibilities. What we believe about ourselves dictates the way we interact with the world. It is imperative that you let go of the past in order to re-create yourself in the present."
I have had some real motivation problems lately (well, for the past 6 months). I used to work out a lot. I trained for mini-triathlons, so I would swim, bike and run for my primary fitness. I loved how I felt after a workout, and getting back into size 2 jeans was my goal. I made it to being really comfortable in size 4. After my last race in August of last year, I let the gym membership last, and lost all my partners for working out. I got busy with work, and just stopped finding time to work out. I'm hoping this is a great group for me to be inspired, and at least get back into walking and doing yoga regularly (basics for me).
We finally have a nice day today. I will put on my gym shoes and go for a walk! thanks, ladies!

Hi Susan,
Well, your motivations are just as valid! And, I agree! It's definitely nice to feel good in your clothes and not be embarrassed to walk out to the shower!! You should feel proud of the work you've done (as in hard work at the gym with the elliptical) !!

Hi Christine,
I hear you! I am training for a marathon right now, and have been pretty diligent about running and yoga practice ... but as of late, I too have lost my motivation. It's hard to do the same thing day in and day out and not get burned out. I love to switch things up, that is my problem. If I have to run 5 days a week, that gets old, very fast.
Although, I have picked back up my motivation with a new goal to train for! :) Definitely good to have short term incremental goals to keep you motivated.
And, I hope you were able to put those gym shoes on and go for a walk to enjoy the sunshine! Nothing like a breather on a busy day to enjoy the weather!
