HOW BMI INCREASES HEART ATTACK RISKS

By July 6, 2018 - 4:23am

Heart attack:
The passing of heart muscle because of the loss of blood supply. The loss of blood supply is typically caused by a total blockage of a coronary vein, one of the conduits that provisions blood to the heart muscle. Demise of the heart muscle,
thusly, causes chest torment and electrical shakiness of the heart muscle tissue.

The electrical insecurity of the heart causes ventricular fibrillation (turbulent electrical aggravations influencing the ventricles, the lower councils of the heart). Systematic transmission of electrical flags in the heart is imperative for the general thumping (and the proficient pumping) of the heart. A heart experiencing ventricular fibrillation basically shudders and cannot pump or convey oxygenated blood to the mind. Brain damage and death can occur unless oxygenated blood restored in few
minutes.

BMI:
Body Mass Index, known as BMI is the measurement of an individual’s weight with respect to his height. It is used to determine whether a person is obese, overweight, healthy or unhealthy.

CALCULATION OF BMI:
A number of calculators provided on the internet can easily calculate BMI. However, the specific formula used to calculate BMI is:

BMI = Weight in a kg / Square of (height in meters)

By this formula, BMI of a person older than 20 years can be calculated. The following BMI calculations are used to determine whether a person is underweight, healthy, overweight or obese:
Below 18.5, the person in underweight.
18.5 - 24.9, the person is normal.
25.0 - 29.9, the person is overweight.
Above 30.0, the person is obese.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BMI AND HEART ATTACK:
According to a study, an increase in the body mass index leads to increase in the risk of heart diseases irrespective of the fact that the person smokes or does not smoke, or exercises daily or not. Since calculation of BMI involves weight of a person, if the BMI comes above or below the normal range, then he might be at risk of heart diseases

It was observed during a study that people with BMI between 20-22.5 were at lowest risk of heart disease. Above this level, their chances of becoming a heart patient increase. The thought that only obese people were at the risk of heart diseases was completely wrong. People who are even a little overweight are exposed to angina, and their chances of heart disease increase as much as they gain weight.

Gaining weight not only leads to heart diseases but brings other problems too. A controlled BMI is necessary to stay away
from any kind of heart diseases.
