11 years and counting

This is my first post ever...I had my RNY on 9/11/01, yes a date that will never be forgotten. I had had a complete hysterectomy in 98 and went from 145 lbs to 231 in 3 years. Nothing worked to get the weight off and I was extremely depressed. In the first year of having the RNY I dropped to 108 lbs. since then I have maintained my weight at about 125ish.
I suffered a lot of complications after the RNY. Just 4 days after the surgery I had a bowel obstruction and was back in surgery. Was opened up completely to remove 5inhes of dead bowel. After a week in the hospital, was released and next morning scar was oozing green substance. Back in ER where the noire wound was reopened and left open to heal inside out. It took almost 4 months and I had to have hoe health nurses come to my home 2x a day to clean and pack it.
Over the years I have had my gallbladder removed, appendix removed, 7 laps for adhesions, one open surgery for adhesions, pancreatitis, and on going abdominal pain.

Many people have asked me if I would do it again and I always answer most likely yes because if I had not then I would have remained in an abusive relationship and had not met my wonderful and supportive husband.
