Pushing for Cushing's testing
Hi all!
I am new to Cushing's and am looking for some feedback. Here is my somewhat long story. TIA for any help!
Last October I had an "attack" at 31 weeks pregnant with my 4th child...I felt like I was going to die, heart rate was 140, bp was 160/100, hot flash, diahrrea... I was sent to er, lasted about an hour and I was ok. Next week same thing, I was admitted, cardiac work up fine, cardiologist blamed it on pregnancy, ob blamed it on cardiac, I figured I'd just die. Happened a few more times, was told after birth I'd be better. I was, for 3 months. Same as my first attack, went to er, bp 180/110, only differrnce was no tachycardia. Happened a few times a week, no rhyme or reason, after a 24 catecholimine urine test came back normal dr suggested panic attacks and prescribed lexapro for anxiety and metaprolol for palpitations. No good, same thing happened. I have some other unexplained things going on but what has me questioning cushings is the paroxysmal blood pressures, and I have the "buffalo hump" which I just saw an orthopedist for today. X-ray showed posture is fine, hump is soft tissue. Should I push for an endocrinologist referral? I am so sick of Drs and tests and I just want this figured out before I have a stroke!
