I have put the rollator in the car for mall shopping, it's too awkward in the house, I keep geting the wheels caught in the kitchen panel under the base of the cabinets. I am now spinning up and down the hall and around the kitchen backwards in my computer chair. I still have to stand up to cut veggies and get mugs; but it's a short pause from the hip and lower back pain. I haven't slept in anything but my hospital bed with the head and feet both up almost all the way. I have a "Zero-Gravity folding deck chair that is awesome to sleep on when I travel. In the full recline it alleviates the lower back pain as well as the hospital bed! I take it when I fly, too! Just pack it in it's cardboard box, and tape it up with duct tape again!
Has anyone ever had an Occupational Therapist work with thwm at home? I was amazed at the little things that make a BIG difference in the way I sit, stand, and move between those. If I was rich; I'd move into a retirement suite! Basic bachelor suites are $1900. with optional services you request as you require them-light housekeeping, bedding changes, laundry, meals, and administer medications, etc. I'd love to be able to have help readily available. Revana Living offers them in Toronto, Ontario. Nothing so reasonable in Nova Scotia yet.

I have heating pads (2) side by side underneath my "egg crate" mattress topper so I don't get burnt if the pad overheats. What a difference in my pain! I tried a mattress heater, but it made me too hot, and I'm getting night sweats, so that didn't work. The heating pads are great relief when I have muscle spasms, too. So relaxing to have warmth on cramping back muscles!

I just bought one of the scooters the other day Still trying to figure it out how to use it, but it hurts to sit in it long. sbut at least I have a little reprieve in understanding the pain but now I can officially say my fibro doctor is a big A** Telling me I have to learn to live with my pain and come to terms with it, and heres a cortizone shot on the way out the door. For what that turns out to be tears in the acl and mcl of my knee.
