newbies.....best advice to give them?

for those of you who are not newbies in chronic illness what would be the best advice you could give them?
Like i say find best doctor that fits with you and hopefully than they will send you to like doctors as they are...also give yourself a good year to grieve and adjust to your new disease.
What are your suggestions
