The link between healing and prayer/positive thinking
I'm not a 'prayer' but I do believe it works for those who have a belief system along with positive thinking/meditation (similar to prayer in it's psychological outcome) for those don't pray and studies back me up.
Do you also believe in the power of prayer or positive thinking as a tool that can actually be instrumental as a healing tool? Have you had experience in this?
I look forward to hearing your responses!

I actually have thought about the words Positive Thinking and have come to the idea of Positive Being. 'Thinking' can sometimes take you away from the truth and reality and be a way of avoiding what is. Rather if we can anchor ourselves within the personal power we hold (for some seen as our connection to God, or another form of spirituality) we can be unafraid of the outcome. This way it frees our energy to focus on who we are deep within, what we can do, and let go of what we can't.
I wrote on this in a blog:

meditation actually is really a form of 'letting go'.. not trying to control anything but seeing what arises from within. Prayer can be more of a cry for help altho' when the connection to that higher power is truly made then that is also a letting go and being with what IS.
so yes, it has been shown that meditation and prayer seems to have a healing effect.... and yet just what/how that happens is not known! stress decreases, tension and anxiety decreases and that in itself is healing for physical body.
I'd be curious to know of positive thinking has long term effects - more so that a regular meditative or 'prayerful' practice.. and also how people who practice one of the other handle further illness, recurrence or no change in their condition...
thank you for the prompt Susan.

I find what is most helpful to me is being aware of the moment. Enjoying wherever I am, and opening my senses and mind to whatever is happening. I found this takes practice and meditation or other arts that require concentration (such as creating art, yoga, martial arts) help develop this skill. Be here.
