Health Tip: Healthy Vision Month, Time to Make an Appointment

Rate This

When was the last time you had your eyes checked? May is Healthy Vision Month. Even if you don’t work as a referee in sports you should annually get your eyes checked. Good vision is not something to take for granted, but your eyes won’t let you know they need medical attention until something is seriously wrong.

Did you also know that eye health could be indicative of other conditions such as diabetes? It’s true. People over the age of 50 also are at higher risk for age-related eye conditions like macular degeneration, cataracts, and glaucoma.

It’s important for everyone to take care of his or her eye health. Schedule a visit with your eye care professional to get your eyes checked, particularly if you regularly wear glasses or contacts; you need to keep your prescription updated to avoid excessive strain to your eyes.
