Barbara recalls her dry eye symptoms and provides advice for other women with this condition.
Barbara:
Well dry eye to me, what I have found, especially being a contact lens wearer, I would start having some blurred vision and think, “Oh, you know, what is this?” But as Dr. Gong explained to me, my eyes are drying out and of course obviously the contacts dry out and don’t rest on your eyes and float on your eyes the way they should. So a lot of the symptoms are maybe the blurred vision and you know, feeling kind of red and uncomfortable, and just I didn’t realize at first what that was. I thought I had eye problems but it wasn’t so much the eye vision problem as it was the dry eye.
Well, I would definitely tell her to go to a good eye doctor whether it be an optician or an ophthalmologist. I have a very good one I feel very confident in and there’s nothing to be afraid of. I think it’s important that you visit a doctor regularly for your eyes, you know, you only have one pair of eyes so it’s important to make sure they are healthy.
