If you don’t like your hair, you can get it colored. If you don’t like your nose, you can get it fixed. And if you don’t like your toes, well there’s even cosmetic surgery for that … and it’s the latest trend that’s going mainstream.
Hi, I’m Bailey Mosier. This is your HER Daily Dose.
If you don’t like your hair, you can get it colored. If you don’t like your nose, you can get it fixed. And if you don’t like your toes, well there’s even cosmetic surgery for that … and it’s the latest trend that’s going mainstream.
A growing number of people are beginning to obsess over smaller details of their feet, and turning to surgery to make their feet prettier. The procedures include "toe tucks," the shaving down of the pinky toe; "toe slimming," which slims the tips of toes where fatty deposits may reside; and "toe shortening," which shortens the second toe if it's longer than the big toe.
Toe re-shaping surgery is considered entirely elective, so insurance companies won’t cover the costs, which can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. But as with any surgery, there are risks. Complications include permanent nerve damage, infection, scarring, and deformity. But if you’re self-conscious about your feet, at least now you know you have options.
That wraps up your HER Daily Dose. Join me here at EmpowHER.com every weekday for your next dose of women’s health.
