The color of your urine is an easy way to determine whether you are dehydrated. The darker yellow your urine is the more dehydrated you are, being fully hydrated means your urine is clear with no color.

Hello, Anon!
Thank you for posting.
It's true, urine that is too dark can be a sign of dehydration. Urine naturally has some yellow pigments called urobilin or urochrome. The darker the urine is, the more concentrated it tends to be. Dark urine is most commonly due to dehydration. Urine that is a pale straw color—almost clear, but not quite—is ideal. That said, if your urine is crystal clear, you might be drinking too much water, which can throw off your electrolyte balance in potentially harmful ways.
