Turns out Elizabeth Edwards, breast cancer patient advocate and wife of former presidential candidate John Edwards, is behind a multi-million plan to push for universal health insurance. The campaign called Health Care for America Now is backed by unions Service Employees International Union and the AFL-CIO.

I would need to learn more about the specifics of any plan before I commit to the idea of universal health care. And while I neither support and reject the above plan (based on what I read on their site), anything that pushes the issue of healthare to the forefront and presents genuine, viable ideas is doing something right.
It's been status quo for too long and in talking with many people, it seems to be getting worse as the number of uninsured people climbs.
