Hi, I have just had a positive pregnancy test, I am 44; unexpected. I will be 45 by the time the baby comes, I already have three children the youngest being 2, it is a shock. My children are all healthy and growing as they should. I am worried about the pregnancy more about my age and being well throughout, and then having a healthy baby etc etc, worried about the three I have. It is really early days, but I need to think seriously about what to do. Can anyone offer any advice, if you have been in my position. No sarcasm please. I am really confused, worried all at same time. Thanks

Hello Meadow1
Thank you for writing.
Time is of the essence, as I am sure you know. There are obvious risks of having a baby at 45 (as I am sure you also know!) but many women have very healthy children at this age. We have a link you can read about this topic - bear in mind there are both positive and negative opinions - we don't censor the opinions of our readers (cut and paste) - https://www.empowher.com/community/ask/45-too-old-have-baby
Remember this is your decision and yours only - consider all factors and make a decision quickly - something that is perhaps, one of the hardest factors here. Nobody else's opinions really matter (other than your husband/partner). And know that you will need to be at peace with what you decide to do - at some point soon there will be no going back - either way. I wish you the best,
Susan
