Hello, I am here because a few months ago I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts and several uterine fibroids. The only cure I was told was to have a hysterectomy. That is not an option for me at this time. So, somehow I found a new path with acupuncture, changing my diet, and meditation. I see significant changing in these treatments and am very thankful and grateful that I did not accept the original treatment I was given by doctors. This experience for me will always be an ongoing journey.

SunnyD,
It's fabulous that you are finding new possibilities through holistic treatments. Have you had your cysts or fibroids checked since that appointment months ago? Are they becoming smaller?
I know readers would love to know these things:
Did you have a lot of pain before, and has that been relieved?
How did you teach yourself to meditate?
and what acupuncture treatments have you had, in what frequency?
We would love it if you would share more details of your efforts. This is exactly the kind of thing more women would like to learn to do for themselves.

Thank you for your comments.
I'm waiting awhile longer to get checked again.
When I first started having discomfort, I just thought it was something I ate. My stomach was hard and bloated. It didn't get better, only worse. I couldn't eat, walk, or sleep. I finally had to go to the ER. The x-rays showed several fibroids, one 8cm, and two ruptured cysts. The pain lasted for a week and pain medicine did not help.
I had ignored the signs and never gotten a check-up. So please, for anyone else out there reading this, never ignore even the slightest change in your body. Please get checked regularily.
After the visit with the gyno. I started thinking there has to be another way. I cannot loose a major organ. The uterus is very important to us women, not just to have children, more importantly it is our creative center. Unfortunately mine was 'clogged' with indecision, unfufillment, and unhappiness.
I found that as I changed my eating habits, started acupuncture and yoga/meditation, I became stronger. It is a very opening process, very spiritual. Meditaton I find is quieting of the mind, a stillness. It takes time to learn. It's not about something happening, it is just being in the moment, honestly with yourself.
I believe that things truly happen to us for a reason. There is a lesson to learn in how we eat, how we find joy, and how we express our creativity. If I had known how important it is to enjoy life I would probably not have gotten sick. Everything is connected within ourselves.

Hello, thank you for your comments. I find that diet is very important in changing your overall health. Without this happening to me I would still be eating processed food, very few veggies and fruit. Now I try to cut out most white flour, which is hard because I love bread, I also no longer eat chocolate and cheese(no pizza!!). I feel better, more free inside. Eating healthy is the best cure.
October 8, 2009 - 4:56pmI have only recently started these new eating habits and I don't know if the fibroids have reduced in size.

Wow. Good for you! Can you tell me how you changed your diet? Have your fibroids and cysts reduced themselves in size? If so, my how much? Thx.
