I recently checked out a web site that lists the different sunscreens on the market and lets you know which ones contain hazardous chemicals and which ones aren't effective, as well as the best ones to buy. I had no idea that the FDA doesn't regulate sunscreens. And I was shocked to find out that the Coppertone for babies 50 SPF sunscreen that I always buy at Target (in the pink bottle) contains hazardous chemicals. Yikes!! The site also rates lip balms and moisturizers.

Hi Kristin,
Thank you so much for finding this article and posting it here for all of us. You will help so many women by sharing this. I also thought that sunscreen made and marketing specifically for babies would be safe. Who knew that it could contain hazardous chemicals? I am going to look up my sunscreens that I like to buy to see how they rate as well.

Thanks for sharing this! I do value what the EWG reports say, and will see how my sunscreen rates.
