Day 18, 69% Waning Gibbous
Mood: Joy
I don’t know about you, but I haven’t had a real day off for quite some time. Since I went back to school, my weekends had become the opportune time for me to catch up with study and unfinished work from the week.
But I’ve come to realize that this is not sustainable, that it had begun to take a toll on my health and happiness, and that I really missed a day without emails, work or study, a day of rest, relaxation and play – a lazy day.
So I decided to start a new resolution by designating Saturdays as my lazy days. I’ll wake up when my body is ready to get up. Read, have tea, play, enjoy myself, and take my time. And I’ll turn off my phone and emails.
I had a delightful lazy day yesterday. It was sweet to take a break from the to-do list, to just be.
Do you have a lazy day? What are some of things you enjoy doing most – things that make you smile and make your heart sing?
Pause for a moment, connect with your feelings, care for yourselves, and record your journey.

I know I love truffles. My boyfriend got me some from Teuscher of Switzerland on Valentine's Day. They are so delightful! Chocolate is a way of pampering for me.

For me, it's a few pieces of dark chocolate, LOL!

Dark Chocolate is an excellent anti-depressant. I also like Truffles-not the Godiva kind but French chocolate truffles. They have a coating of real cocoa dusting on them and are so tasty.

Thank you for sharing your experiences Rosa and Poochiewoochie. It's so important to have lazy days regularly and give us time to rest and rejuvenate. Ironic that sometimes it takes a little discipline to give ourselves permission for a yummy lazy day. It's worth it though :-)

I call them "mental health days". I recently had spine surgery and have been REALLY depressed. On Saturday the one month anniversary of the surgery I just decided to stay in bed the whole day. Woke up on Sunday a little moody but as the day progressed I started feeling a whole lot better. I know feel that I can go the course and have a positive attitude from now on until my treatment is over which could be another 5 months.

There's nothing like a good, REAL lazy day off. Sometimes a day in bed catching up to your favorite shows or watching a good movie is just what you need after a hard week.
Thanks for sharing!
