Healthy way to Lose Weight
Maintaining a healthy weight can be difficult, on the other hand shedding your weight is even tougher. Are you desperate about reducing your weight and your diet doesn't work for it? You have to develop a healthier relationship with food that helps you to lose weight considerably.
Losing your weight in a healthy way is more important than slimming your hips or losing a chin. It would really be a crying shame if you worked so hard to shed a few pounds and couldn't achieve it, or you just gained the weight back when you go back to your “normal” diet. Living on almonds and bottled water may help you lose weight, but it’s obviously not sustainable and will spoil your health. Your body needs all three major categories to function.
Here’s the hard science: Since 3,500 calories equals around one pound of fat, if you cut 500 calories from your normal diet each day, you’ll shed almost one pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories). Simple, right? Then why is weight loss so hard?..Go-ahead right now…
When you don’t consume enough calories, your body will behave as if it’s starving where in your metabolism goes into Neanderthal mode, considering it must be winter and there won’t be food until the first warm, so it slows down to preserve calories. Instead, it uses lean tissue and muscle as calories in order to preserve its fat stores which will not only allow you to reduce weight, but it makes you to lose muscle. This is the reason you must keep your calories at a normal level. A safe plan to drop weight involves reducing your calories by no more than 350 to 500 a day and performing physical exercise for at least one hour at the same time.
Calories Are Not Out to Get You
Studies have proven that calories are not only the demon spawn to fat but also a measure of energy content. When we eat high caloric foods that are low in nutrients, we definitely don’t get any benefit from such foods. So basically everyone likes cake as it tastes good and every now and again, it should be looked at as a “treat” because it does not provide you with enough nutrients. In general, we need to pick and eat foods that are high in nutrients but low to moderate in energy content – calories. How much food you should eat is directly related to how active you are – the more you exercise, the more calories you need to fuel another lap around the track.
