The FDA recently ordered 23andme to stop sales of its personalized DNA test kits in a warning letter posted online. FDA regulators say that the Silicon Valley company has not shown that its tests are safe or effective.
The DNA test kit, launched more than 5 years ago, claims to tell customers if they are at risk for more than 250 diseases and health conditions. The $99 kit is purchased online and mailed. Once it is received, you are instructed to spit into a small tube and send back to the company for analysis.
The FDA says only medical tests that have been cleared by the government are permitted to make such claims.

The only real mass testing will happen if there would be an open online data base so each and every person i able to compare data from self conducted test.

No, I would not order or use this test. I see a major concern, not with the test, but how the consumer can interrupt the results and emotionally handle the results.
