Let me start by saying that week 5 was a great week for me! You can view this week's progress chart on my personal blog, befitwithkristen.com
You may or may not already know that my biggest hurdle last week was sleep. I have done much better since then. My weekly average is up from 5:43 hr:min to 6:38 hr:min. That's nearly an additional hour of sleep every night. Truthfully my average would have been a lot better but I really blew it on Friday night. I went to bed way too late; getting less than 5 hours of precious beauty sleep. My days of "partying" are long over, but I still enjoy a nice night on the town every now and then. Boston is a fabulous city. Even in the Winter. It's just unfortunate that I had to be up early for work the next day...
I have some more good news. I managed to get over 8 hours of sleep for 2 nights last week. I'm feeling great this week. When I look back on the stats for the month, last Thursday was the first night that I had at least 8 hours of sleep since February 5th. That's a long time , I know!
So this is what I look like when I don't get enough sleep. Not much energy...
And this is what I look like after a good night's sleep. Much more cheerful!
Okay, enough about sleep. I averaged 15,013 steps a day for the last 7 days. I am pleased with that number. The only day that I did not hit my goal of 13,000 steps was on Saturday. I spent a good portion of the day sitting at a Rite Aid Health & Wellness Fair, talking to customers about using exercise to manage stress.
Here are some of my personal bests from the week:
- Monday 3/5 - 2660 calories burned
- Wednesday 2/29 - 20392 steps (also an overall personal best)
- Wednesday 2/29 - 4:12 hr:min of physical activity (also an overall personal best)
- Saturday into Sunday morning 3/4 - 8:21 hr:min of sleep
- Thursday into Friday morning 3/2 - 98% sleep efficiency (also an overall personal best)
In addition to having a really great week, I also set 3 of my overall personal bests since the start of this challenge on January 31st. WOW! It must be all the good sleep. ;)
As I start the final week of this challenge I want to remind you that you can follow me on Facebook and Twitter to keep up on my daily progress. I want to finish strong!
