I just read this and wanted to share:
Almonds
Almonds have many healing properties. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, almonds are considered anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic. They help with alkalinizing the blood and relieve stagnation in the liver. In Ayurvedic medicine almonds are used to calm the mind and nerves.
Almonds are a great source of vitamin E, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, fiber and are a great source of healthy monounsaturated fat. They are good for the bones and contain more calcium than any other nut. Almonds are also said to contain anti-cancer nutrients and help keep the heart healthy by lowering cholesterol.

Hi Princeline - This is great information from the Alternatives for Healing blog. Thanks for sharing this with us!
The Almond Board of California provides some great information for consumers and for health professionals at their website which is http://www.almondboard.com/
June 1, 2010 - 6:43pmThey often have some great recipes on the site as well as a lot of creative ways you can add more almonds to your diet, such as putting them in a candy jar instead of candy, which is what I've done. Of course, it does help to try to avoid the special almonds that are loaded with extra salt and other things to give them more flavor and commercialize them. I think they're just fine plain. :-) Pat
