My story is long, but the short end of it is a struggle of over 17years with bulimia and various other mental disorders and addictions, including depression, panic attacks, alcohol and drug abuse.
I've been in recovery now for over 4 years. After trying numerous methods to help cope with my ED, I found that connecting with my body through slow and mindful movements (yoga/pilates) along with visualization and imagery (hypnotherapy) allowed me to open up in ways I simply couldn't through other methods, like private/group therapy, or with drugs.
Thanks,
Liz
Then I found a way to quite the mind through visualization and imagery. This coupled with controlled body movements and daily mantras helped me heal from my addictive and self-destructive personality.
My purpose here on this website is to share my story and hope that others will find help similar to this if nothing else is working to inspire hope with their ED.
My mission right now is to spread the word and educate.
Thanks,
~Liz

Thank you for sharing your story. I think your story can help many people in recovery for many different addictions.
I am a person that is consumed in stress for whatever reason I chose for the week and that creates many different health issues and I also found solace in yoga.
In my opinion, it creates a bond and awareness between reality and body and I also found it to be a great stress reducer.
