My fiancé has anoxic brain injury from cardiac arrest from a fall. These doctors offer little to no hope and I’m not giving up. I want to transfer him to a location that does oxygen treatment specifically for anoxic tbi. Ive been researching and watching as many videos as I can. He’s only been in icu since last Thursday and they act like he’s been there for months rushing me to a decision. His father is all the way in Texas and I’m basically by myself, with the exception of my dad who came down. I have hope and faith and I know people often do recover and I’m praying to GOD my fiancé along with your loved ones do too. Right now he’s been off sedation for two days and he’s not been able yet to show signs of anything. I really wish he could do something before we head down the rode to a trach.

It took my brother a few days to show signs of awakening after being removed from sedation. Play him music, talk to him, touch him and watch his face for reactions.

Hello HopeforTony
April 10, 2018 - 1:31pmThank you for sharing your story. I can understand feeling rushed to make a decision by experts who may see this kind of injury all the time - but you don't and your emotional state is not being helped by people who aren't showing much compassion.
We wish you the best and don't give up hope for your fiance.
Best,
Susan
