Hi Klijah

Am with you on all you say, except to add that it is good to create some mirrors to measure the results of what we are taking since not all natural alternatives are created equal either

For example I am taking an amazing product that i can see is reducing my heart age because I am using technology to measure the CASP (central aortic systolic pressure), a more accurate measure of blood pressure than those BP machines that just measure the pressure in your arm

Keep well

none are important they are all used to get you to a doctor and hopefully put you on the usual treadmill for meds for life... prevention is worth a pound of the cure and since there is no cure but natural remedies which do not make them any money they want you to be a consumer of their poisons... for life!! a good citizen is a sick consumer almost everything offered in this country [usa] is offered to make money and do little else...education,medication, and insurance are the biggest businesses[just look where all the advertising money is coming from] and offer the least for your money however the usa has everything set up so you HAVE to be a consumer in these 3 areas or no job, no driving, no healthcare... once you realize you can cure ANY disease all on your own naturally and prevent virtually all easily you can get rid of the whole bigpharma/doctor/hospital/med insurance moneymaking scam heres a start
number 1.... stop killing germs they strengthen your immune system which is daily under onslaught from those around us who kill everything in sight that might, maybe, possibly be a germ in normal everyday doses these germs build our immune systems
number 2...think think think if you still can and be an advicate for yourself so much of this is common sense I realize we have been poisoned quite regularly everyday for a long time with chemicals in everyday products we use and in the food we eat and this has had an effect as well as the regular brainwashing in news,tv,school and from other well-meaning fellow brainwashed human beings
number 3....research, research, research and go deep you will be amazed at what you will find and shocked to realize nothing is as it seems listen I could go on and on but I won't simply because I know most of you will seek to believe what you already have been programmed to.....but for those who still think for themselves perhaps I have sown a seed no matter how tiny of doubt and for you I have hope open your eyes we are 100% victims in an evil, greedy world gone mad

I couldn't agree with you more, and that is why my post below regarding eye exams is something that is important to me. That Opthomologist is more on the "natural side" of dealing with health. And, she uses alternative FIRST, before anything else. Education, prevention, etc... is part of the office visit. Her vision is use PREVENTION, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, and be EDUCATED. When I told her that using Reflexology had caused great concern from my reflexologist, as when she touch the "eye" area, I always went beserk. My dr. became very CONCERNED!! And from there, many of my issues were discovered. But, understanding "my body" and the "natural part of the body healing with the right tools", must be understood. There are great podcasts that do a great job in explaining how the immune system is responsible for illnesses and how to make it healthy, and the side effect is health. For some, it may be to late to be 100% of what you would to like to be, but it can bring some relief, and possibly, a better life. Take every word, every lab test, anything you don't understand, (even those you think you do!) and goggle it, look at WebMD, everything that is in YOUR own doctors magazines, and conferences. They can't argue something that is proven within their own "system". And repeating what was said in the above post, the health care community is overloaded with paperwork, and many other things that insurance companies and the government has put on them. Plus, the thought that they can be sued for looking at someone the wrong way, makes our doctors overly cautious, and afraid to step outside the box. They will be ostrisized by their own, and it's a hard pill for them to swallow. But, there are doctors who don't care, and who are willing to go against the grain, and use nature in a way that was given to us to heal and protect. Those doctors are hard to find, but they are out there, and I am so thankful. I never wanted to get on the "hampster wheel" of the health care system. But pain finally caused me to take that step, I hate it, yet, I have created a team that is what I need. Took 10 years, but I'm glad I knew to take my own health into my own hands....MY HEALTH, MY BODY, is given to me, and I am responsible for what I allow to be done. Sometimes, I had to give in, and sometimes I fought, but, I am ahead of most of the people in my same situation, because of not being a PERFECT, COMPLIANT person. That never gave me an excuse to be rude or be disrespectful. But it was my choice to decide what was in my best interest, and even if that DOCTOR was in my best interest. It's hard to do, especially when you feel crummy, and I feel for those who don't have family to support them in "out of the box" decisions. It's hard, but it is YOUR LIFE. I've been employeed IN the medical system, and now a patient. There are many doctors who are frustrated, because if they do what they know could be helpful, but it is "outside the box" of what our culture believes or is advertised, they can be sued and their license can be on the line. I have seen doctors walk out of a room, and deflate....with remorse and say, "I had to give in to them, but now, we are looking at a Cesarean, and that is exactly what they don't want or need". But, the uneducated public has made it very hard, also, on doctors to do what they know is best. Some are in it for the money, but some are really trying to fulfill their calling. Uneducated patients who aren't willing to educate themselves, put their own health on the line. And for some doctors, THAT is hard to swallow. So, there are both sides of the story.....but if doctors could practice in the way they "can do no harm", it would not be involving the insurance companies or pharmacutical companies who have more control than the doctors. Something is wrong with this picture, and most likely it won't change. BUT, WE CAN CHANGE OUR WAY OF THINKING!! We can think for ourselves!! :)
Best wishes and a strong inner self,
A long term Chronic Pain Patient.

Thank you Anita. Definitely if I am in a motorcycle accident, call the MD and not my Naturopath, and give me drugs -- other than that, everything that I have learned about whole food nutrition, following Jamie Olivers, "Food Revolution", Dr. Pam Popper and Dr.'s Caldwell Esselstyn and T. Colin Campbell, Neal Barnhard, Joel Fuhrman and the many reversing diabetes and heart disease -- WHY would we wait for a test to tell us we have it or at risk?? We already KNOW that diet and lifestyle will lead you down the road to health or disease! Education is key!
We have to teach people to stop drinking beer, sitting in front of the TV eating your pizza and wait for the test or the heart attack to tell you that you are killing yourself?? Let's join the Food Revolution and begin teaching our children now!
Sorry, got a a roll there!

well as heart disease is the number 1 chronic disease than the blood pressure test is the key indicator, rather than cholesterol. However that being said everything in the body is connected and so anything that helps us create mirrors for health on the inside is important.

Well done Sherry on your approach and results. As someone who has worked in the health service and seen the polictical and financial decisions that rule rather than health, I applaud your openess to taking responsibility for your health, and looking at other approaches, particularly whole food sources of nutrients

I am getting most of my opinion from my mentor, Dr. Pam Popper of the Wellness Forum. These are my words not hers, but if you believe in treatment rather than prevention, and drugs, and all the medical procedures for treatments, then you need these tests. Personally, I believe the bone density test was created to sell the related drugs, high cholesterol -- remember Tim Russert? He died of a heart attack with excellent blood work! So, I stay away from the doctors and I practice and try to get better and better every year at eating whole foods, less and less to nearly zero processed, drink lots of filtered water and exercise. I am 57, post menopause, take no hormones and no drugs (I take Juice Plus and supplement with vitamin D and that's it!) and I am active and healthy. I just went water skiing and skied every day for 4 days in a row! I ride a motorcycle, I never want my grand kids to think of me as old! If you are new to this path and already have disease there are many practitioners who can guide you to optimal health with diet and lifestyle.

This is so true. In Illinois, these women can still get the tests she needs to be having through a program called "Well Woman", sponsored by the state.

There are many hospitals across the country who have programs for alot of these tests. The Susan Komen Foundation (sp?) does mammograms for women without insurance, and there are alot of other programs out there for women who dont have access to medical care. Health departments are a good place to start. I have been dealing with two different types of cancer for four years and have had to really dig to find different programs for help since I am no longer insurable. They are hard to find, but they are out there.
