I recently (2 months ago) had a golf ball size pituitary tumor removed (in 2 surgeries-the last being a craniotomy). Now, I have been experiencing fluid retention over the past 2-3 weeks. My doctor put me on 15mg Prednisone 2x daily & 1 dose DDAVP daily. My acth level was a bit low and my sodium level up on the high side.

Anon - Did your physician prescribe prednisone and DDAVP tablets immediately after your surgery, or when you started experiencing fluid retention?

Most likely your doctor has prescribed these medications to deal with temporary conditions affecting your health, but the best way to know your doctor's exact intentions is to ask.
