When should I take a pregnancy test?

This is my first full cycle off of birth control pills. Last cycle I stopped my pills mid pack and got withdrawal bleeding (for 5 days) like the "book" says, 14 days after stopping my pills abruptly. when withdrawal bleed was done I DTD (did the deed) with OH (other half)10, 14, and 18 days from the start of my withdrawal bleed. then after withdrawal bleed was done, again like the book says, I got my period another 14 days later. I had a five day period which was heavy flow, brown, the first day then one day of heavy red, then two days of medium to light flow, then the last day of spotting. Since having that last period we have DTD 10 and 17 days from the start of my period (CD's 10 and 17). After about CD 12 I started noticing cramping in my lower adominal/ uterus area on the right side. Then it seemed to move to the left side and sometimes would be in the center. It felt like my lower abdomen was full and heavy and felt like Aunt Flo was about to arrive. For the last two days (I'm currently on CD 17) i haven't felt much in the way of the cramping or random twinges. Today, CD 17, I am feeling the same type of cramping feeling in my lower right abdomen/uterus. I haven't had any spotting whatsoever since last cycle ended but I did notice some yellow tinged globby CM (cervical mucus) on CD 16 when I wiped while using the restroom (not terribly normal for me). I am guessing I might stay on a 27-29 day cycle but I'm not sure. OH and I are trying for a baby and I'm really hoping that this is the month since I heard the first cycle off bcp's (birth control pills) could be very promising with conceiving. So, question is, is there a good chance I got a sticky baby this month? and when should I test? my period tracker app thinks my period should arrive around CD 22 but my Fertility Friend app says I should expect AF (aunt Flow) around CD 28. I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!!

Hello again, Jessica Jean. Thank you for writing.

I see we have given you this information before. If you wait one week (7 days) after a missed period to test, you are more apt to have an accurate result. Also, test with first-morning urine.
