Q:

What's causing breast tenderness and heaviness?

I would like to clarify, I'm a virgin so pregnancy is not a possibility. I've noticed that my back has been a little bit sore recently and that my bras seem to be constricting and hurt after a few hours. My breasts I'm pretty sure have increased in size in a short period of time and I have maintained my weight for the past year. All my bras feel really tight and I bought a few bras a size up and fitting properly not too long ago. My breasts feel especially tender especially and heavy in the lower region. I'm 21 going on 22 very soon. Is this a sign of PMS or something else? This is the first time this has ever happened to me. My breasts have always been small (36/38A-cup) up until recently and I'm not sure (B-C...maybe different now?) .

Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.
Changes in breast size is directly related to hormonal changes. It is not necessarily a bad thing. However, since you are experiencing tenderness for extended periods of time, I suggest that you get a mammogram. There could be simply hormonal changes, or something more serious. So it is best to get it checked out.
