Q:

What were your very early pregnancy symptoms, before missed period? Am I pregnant?

For those of you that have been pregnant, what were your symptoms, if any, before you missed your period? I am wondering if my symptoms are related to pregnancy. I still have a week before my period but have been cramping, dizzy, eating less, had headaches, tiredness, and increased sensitivity to smell. Most info I have found has said that it is too early to experience symptoms but I want to know what others have had. Has anybody felt different two weeks before a missed period? I am okay with either result....we were not trying and wanted to wait, but it would be okay if we were...

Hi Anon,
Welcome and thanks for your question. Most women begin experiencing symptoms of pregnancy at about 6-8 weeks. This is counted from the first day of your last menstrual period. That being said, all women are different and experience pregnancy in their own unique way. Your symptoms sound pretty general and could be attributed to a number of different things. My advise is to take a pregnancy test if your period does not come in the next week. Most of the over the counter pregnancy tests are very sensitive and pick up even low levels of HCG, the hormone produced in pregnancy.
