I take blood pressure medicines and don't want bad side effects. I took Dramamine last year before getting on a plane and got more sick than without it. I get vertigo dizziness and feel like throwing up. some side effects sound very dangerous on some motion sickness meds and even death. which would be best for me? Even home remedies would be nice to try before I go on a plane if you know of any. thank you for any help with this.

Hello. Thank you for posting.

*Some things that may help.

Chew some minty gum and focus on your breathing: the action of chewing stimulates digestion and relaxation. Mint flavoring (in moderation) also has a soothing effect on the stomach, alleviating the sensation of nausea and indigestion.

Try to take slow, deep breaths to ease yourself to sleep if you can.

There are various commonly-used, over-the-counter drugs for airsickness, including antihistamines, which you should take half an hour before the flight, and the Hyoscine patch, which you should place behind your ear. There are also some very effective natural remedies for airsickness, such as ginger, which is widely believed to have an anti-nausea effect. Lemons contain citric acid, which can calm the stomach and prevent vomiting.
