That question doesn't have a definitive answer as it depends on the treatment the person is given and their general health and age. There are various stages of COPD A person can live years with end stage COPD if they are other wise healthy without other diseases or conditions that could make COPD worse or fatal. A person who is very ill with COPD and may have other underlying conditions may not live as long.
