An inflamed small intestine is called enteritis. There are many reasons for this including (according to Healthline):
viral or bacterial infection
radiation induced
medication induced
alcohol or drug induced
enteritis related to poor blood flow
enteritis related to inflammatory conditions, such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis

Symptoms can be severe, from diarrhea, to abdominal pain and gas, to poor appetite or even rectal bleeding.

Please seek medical advice if you have been told you have Enteritis.
