what does a tick bite look like on human skin

I have a round bump on my back with a dark center. The bite is elevated and has a hole in the middle with a dark pigmented area beneath it. I can't tell if it's a bite I scratched and made look worse or if there may be a tick underneath. I can't get deep enough below the skin to tell if there's a tick under it

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for posting.

A characteristic flat, red ring or bull's eye rash develops in 75% of those who have been bitten by a tick infected with Lyme disease. The rash appears days to weeks after the bite and spreads outward. The bull's eye rash is called "erythema migrans." If you are unsure, see your doctor.
