Q:

What could my discharge mean?

I had my last period on January 4-9, 2018. On my period calendar, I was supposed to ovulate between January 18-23. I had unprotected sex last January 25 but did withdrawal method. My boobs started to get sore yesterday, January 26 and also had minor cramps which I think about as my usual pms symptoms, but today, January 27 I had a weird discharge that only happened to me now, it was somewhat light brown in color and a little tacky. It bothers me because this was my first time having sex with a different person. Could you please enlighten me and what could my discharge mean? Thank you so much!

Hello. Thank you for posting.

Brown spotting or discharge on your underwear or toilet paper while wiping can occur for many reasons, ranging from normal to abnormal. If it's foul smelling it could be a sign of infection. Some women have brown spotting mid-cycle or near the time of their period. Brown discharge can also be old blood after your period is over.
